Our Earthworm Castings are screened to get out any large lumps and give you the perfect texture.

Worm castings are the ideal soil amendment giving microbial life back to the soil structure and fertilizing boost. Additionally, worm castings promote strong plant growth, improved root structure, while providing essential plant nutrients, increasing soil moisture retention and beneficial microorganisms. Worm castings are pH neutral and safe to use indoors and outdoors on annuals, prerennials, seedlings, as well as cacti and succulents. It is excellent as a soil amendment and can significantly cut back on your fertilizer inputs. In addition, it is non toxic, safe for kids and pets. Worm castings can also be used to create a compost tea that can be applied as a foliar spray or directly onto the soil.

Directions for use:

  • Vegetables and annuals: add 10-30% worm castings into soil mix depending on existing soil conditions. Alternatively, place 1-2 inches of worm castings in planting holes, garden and seed furrows. Set plants or seeds, cover with soil and lightly water. Side dress during the growing eason with 1/2 cup of worm castings per plant or 1 cup of castings per linear foot for every row every 2 months
  • Perennials: add 10-30% worm castings into soil mix depending on existing soil conditions. Alternatively, work 1 inch of worm castings above the root zone once per year, cover lightly with dirt or mulch. Take care not to damage shallow roots while working the castings in. Apply in spring, early summer and again in early fall.
